September 23, 2009

I'm writing this on the 29th and though only a day later it feels like yesterday was a week away. Today Vance left for another hunting trip. The weather was beautiful and crisp. I had someone email me and ask to take her off my mailing list. I could care less that I have one less customer so why do I feel so rejected, why do I take that kind of stuff so hard, why am I writing this here? I guess because no one will see it but me.

Breakfast: Vance made French toast - I've never liked his french toast. I'm not really a french toast fan to start with and homemade french toast definitely doesn't cut it. I had cereal.

Lunch: Sandwiches, fruit and crackers.

Dinner: Oven-roasted herb chicken, rice and spinach. Absolutely no one ate the spinach but me. Out of nine people you'd think there would be at least one other person who would like it. At least they all tried it.

September 22, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal

Lunch: PBJ, turkey sandwiches or chili - we had options today.

Dinner: Chili dogs, topped with onions, pickles - all the fixin's - Glen even put Cheese-its on his.

Snowed today. Amazing.

September 21, 2009

Breakfast: We started out with cereal just because everyone was starving. Woke up to rain/snow. I remember smiling when I woke up because I could hear the pitter patter on the roof. Then, when Vance woke up he made steak and eggs for everyone.

Lunch: Soup - perfect day for it, of course.

I put the kiddos to bed and spent two hours at Joann's Fabrics. Almost spend $150 on a piece of fabric. Beginners beware ;). Then I went to Chick-fil-a by myself and ate two sandwiches fries and some sweet tea. I'm sure my appetite will decrease when I stop nursing (ha).

Dinner: ANTELOPE HEART CHILI. You read that right. It was actually pretty good. Of course, I didn't have much because I was a pig at Chick-fil-a.

September 19, 2009

Vance was gone all day so I kept things simple.

Breakfast was pop tarts and cereal.

Lunch: I stopped by Wendy's after my cycling class and brought it home to everyone.

Dinner: We had spaghetti. A favorite around here.

I'm not going to even make a seperate post for Sunday's menu. I had an headache for most of the day and didn't feel like doing anything. Vance was gone all morning getting his antelope so we had cereal fro breakfast, everyone fended for themselves for lunch and Vance stuck pizzas in the oven for dinner. Not at all satisfying, but I'll do better tomorrow.

September 18, 2009

Breakfast: Vance and Ray were here so I made a big breakfast. Fried eggs, bacon, toast, grits, etc.

Lunch: was also a bit special. I had marinated some elk steaks and grill them, made a pasta salad with as many veggies as I could throw in there and some homemade salsa and chips. Delcioso!

Dinner was simple with some left-overs.

It was good to have Ray here. I hope we can go visit them next summer.

September 15, 2009

Wow! What a day. Over 80...and I thought we were officially into the Autumn weather.

Breakfast: Cereal...again.

Lunch: We almost made it to Grandma's house for lunch, but I couldn't resist when we passed a Wendy's.

Dinner: I made tacos...yum...as always.

I'm writing this after midnight and Kael just came up and laid down on the floor in my room. Scared me half to death. He's just fell right back to sleep. I wonder if I should even bother him. I know Tristan will be waking up shortly so I might as well stay up for a little longer.

September 14, 2009

A real beautiful day today. It started to rain around 4pm. As far as weather goes in my opinion today was PERFECT!

I think I was a bit lazy about meals today, but no one went hungry :)

Breakfast: Cereal and bagels.
Lunch: Left-overs: chicken, fish, rice, potatoes, spaghetti. I think I emptied the entire frig of left overs. I like it when that happens.
Dinner: Ryan made two pizzas. His specialty.

Update

I've slacked off again, but I had to write some of our latest dinners down so I won't forget about them and make sure I add them to the rotation.

We tried a new dish recently: Stir fry broccoli and beef. It was really good and the kids liked it to. A definite addition to the calendar.

We brought meatloaf and mashed potatoes back. Another of the kids favorites. Which reminds me, my mom used to do Swedish meatballs over rice. I'll have to do that soon.

Today, Vance left again so I pray he gets what he wants for his birthday: a big bull. I also pray that he brings back meat; we need it.

I'm going to do something extra simple for dinner tonight like Mac and Cheese so the clean up can be quick and I can work on some of my projects.

It's rainy, but warm today.

September 1, 2009

I am so happy it's September! Though, it will be 85 today and we're going to the pool, I'm looking forward to Autumn.

Breakfast: Since Vance was home i made a big breakfast: a big pot of freshly ground coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, skillet potatoes and grits. It was all very good!

We're going to do fast food for lunch since we're going to the pool and the kitchen is a mess.

August 31, 2009

Breakfast: Oatmeal

I'm feeling better today, I prayed a lot last night and it helped me focus on what is really important - my children and all that implies.

Lunch: Chicken noodle soup, string cheese and grapes.

Dinner: Taco night!

Surprise! Vance came home two days early around 9pm - another answered prayer. he never comes home early from hunting. unfortunately, he didn't get anything, but it was the first time he has taken horses and it ended up being a difficult trip, but he learned a lot.

August 30, 2009

Vance is gone and I feel all out of sorts. Today was a lovely day though...I love rainy day weather.

Breakfast: Cereal (tomorrow we'll have to do a big breakfast as we are low on cereal).

Lunch: Corn dogs, fish sticks, tater tots, grapes and manderin oranges. Sometimes I think I go a little overboard.

Dinner: Fish, rice, broccoli - Ho Hum - it's hard to get creative when you're just cooking for the kiddos.

August 27, 2009

My goodness you'd think it would be easy to keep up a blog like this - if I could only get into a routine.

Weather today is aboslutely beautiful and warm. Would have been a good day to go to the pool. We only have about two weeks left then the pool closes.

Breakfast: Cream of wheat and toast.

Lunch: Corn dogs, tater tots and applesauce.

Not sure what will be for dinner.

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

August 5, 2009

Breakfast: Eggs and toast.

Lunch: Corn dogs and tater tots.

Dinner: Oriental chicken and jasmine rice.

Today was a hard day. Started out nice and I was hoping to be productive, but I didn't get much sleep again last night and I am so tired I feel like I could just fall over and go to sleep wherever I landed.

I called four people today and each phone call was over a half hour long. This is why I don't talk on the phone. Nothing against the people I talked to, in fact, I really enjoyed the conversations, but there's so much to be done and the kids know when I'm on the phone and take that opportunity to be particularly mischievous.

Weather: sunny then rainy in the afternoon. I thought I would start logging when it started to get cloudy and rainy. Yesterday it started at 4pm - today it started more around 5pm and it's still raining even now at almost 9:30.

Thursday, July 30, 2009

July 30, 2009

Very gloomy today. Goes with my mood. I don't think it's going to get much above 60. This has been a truly unusual summer.

Breakfast: I could barely get out of bed, but I made quick grits and eggs.

Lunch: Taco salad - starting to feel a little better. Hopefully, will be up to teaching a cycling class at 530.

Dinner: Maybe spaghetti with salad and garlic bread.

July 29, 2009

Breakfast: Eggs and toast (and a few left-over chocolate muffins)

Went to the pool. We were only able to spend about and hour and fifteen minutes before it started to pour. I felt fine up until we got home then very quickly felt horrible and realized I had another case of mastitis.

Lunch: Left-overs. Went to sleep at about 1ish and didn't get up until 4pm feeling just awful. I called Vance and he brought home dinner.

Dinner: KFC

It rained most of the night. I know because I barely slept. Tristan woke up twice and Kael had a nightmare and needed water.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

July 28, 2009

Ugh! My patience is sooooo thin. As I write this I feel like my whole body is quivering with anger. Lord, please bring calm and creativity to deal with my misbehaving children.

Breakfast - Cream of wheat and toast.

Lunch - Noodle soup, chips/crackers and juice.

Dinner - I have no idea...

I've been working really hard lately on the house and trying to get things organized and ready for school. I'm thinking I'm going to have to quit everything else so I can really be focused this year. No more volunteering - at least, for a little while.

July 27, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal

Lunch: Cheese and crackers and lots of different fruit.

Dinner: Left-overs.

It's been raining every day. Today it rained really hard and we actually had a full rainbow right in our front yard. I took a picture, but it doesn't do it justice. It seems like it's rained every day since late spring. It's been a very wet summer so far.

July 26, 2009

Breakfast: Chocolate muffins.

Lunch: Snacks

Dinner: BBQ - Pork ribs, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and sweet tea.

Great day. I registered all the kids (except Tristan) for AWANA. Grandma and Pappa came over to share our dinner. Good visit.

Saturday, July 25, 2009

July 25, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal. Vance went to Albertson's last night and got a deal. Four boxes of cereal with two free gallons of milk.

Lunch: Corn dogs, chips and watermelon. I think I'm just about done with watermelon for the summer. Time to move on to another fruit.

Dinner: We made beans and weenies for the kiddos and Vance and I went on a little date night. We went to the church to drop off a few things, then to Sam's to stock up and then to On the Border. We had a gift card for hosting the worship team picnic at our house. We actually got a dessert. Kahlua Ice cream pie. It was delicious.

July 24, 2009

Breakfast: Fried eggs, toast, cream of wheat.

Lunch: Mac n Cheese and grapes.

Dinner: Daddy made pizza because I was gone teaching a class. But, when I got home I made fish and rice. I'm soooooo tired of pizza.

This week went by so fast. So much to do to get organized for the start of school.

Monday, July 20, 2009

July 20, 2009

Absolutely gorgeous day. I'm going to try to get a lot done. It's nice not to have anything on the schedule so I can work on getting house and school organized.

Breakfast: We had a huge breakfast and it seemed like the kids just wanted to eat and eat and eat. I gave the three littles cereal early because they were too hungry to wait for me to finish cooking. Two sticks of butter, a loaf of bread, a pound of bacon and 18 eggs later we were finally done with breakfast. It took a whole hour. Kael, who at a bowl of cereal before, ate four eggs and still was asking for more. I had to tell him no.

Lunch: We'll probably do bologna sandwiches, chips and fruit. There goes another loaf of bread.

Dinner: May be left over spaghetti.

July 19, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal - we had to get ready for church fast. Vance spoke at Accelerate. He really did a great job. I'd love to see him back in the ministry.

Lunch: I made sausage spaghetti. It was delicious.

Dinner: We went to the movies and snacked on popcorn and candy so I wasn't really in the mood for cooking dinner. Grandma and Pappa were here watching the kiddos and brought a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for my birthday. So, I guess, that was dinner - yummo.

Friday, July 17, 2009

July 17, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal again. Tristan was up most of the night screaming - ugh.

The pool was hard today. Tristan fell and got a black eye. Morgan was the worst little thing and just would not listen. Everyone was not on their best behavior to say the least. It's been awhile since that has happened. Everyone to bed early tonight.

Lunch: Left-overs from last night's dinner.

Today was a pretty relaxed day. Came home from the pool to a flooded roof. The swamp cooler hose was either cut or chewed - definitely done on purpose, by who is a mystery. It's warm, but not uncomfortable. Need to get the brakes checked on the van and need to run the self clean on the oven before our new appliances arrive. Have a class tonight and tomorrow - I cancelled my bday pool party. Sunday we should be going to see Transformers.

Dinner: will be some form of chicken (thawing now), left over potato salad (since we made so much). Will probably drop by Sam's tonight for milk.

July 16, 2009

Breakfast: Fried eggs and grits.

Lunch: Wendy's - finished swim lessons, made two deposits at the bank, got my eyebrows waxed, went to grandma's - carpets got cleaned - they tuned out great. It's like I'm in a new house.

Came home. put "the littles" to bed, made hamburger patties, boiled potatoes for tater salad, sat down on the porch with Vance.

Dinner: Hamburgers, hot dogs, tater salad and baked beans.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

July 15, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal - again. Tomorrow I'm going to cook eggs or Cream of Wheat or something like that.

Dinner: Pizza

Good day.

July 14, 2009

Breakfast: Cereal

Lunch: Soup and Salad after the pool. Went to Souper Salad and paid only $17 for the whole family. What a deal.

Good day.

July 8, 2009

...been horribly ill. Fourth of July party had almost 80 people.

Breakfast: Cereal

Lunch: Good Times

Dinner: Grilled chicken, corn on the cob and baked beans.

Extremely hot today. Took kids to the doctor, unbelievable, they only have colds. Took the vacuum in and got it fixed. Fixed Vance's phone, although he doesn't think so - man I wish he'd get better with tech - broke the van and bought a new Journey.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

June 29, 2009

Dinner: Kids were left to fend for themselves. Vance and I went car shopping. Not that we NEED one we just thought it might be a good time.

We got a pretty intense rain storm when Vance and I stopped by Taco Bell for dinner. For the most part of the day it was bright sunny and warm, but not too warm. Got a lot done today, too.

Sunday, June 28, 2009

Dinner: Take-out

Saturday, June 27, 2009

June 27, 2009

Breakfast: Vance made pancakes.

It's been a hard morning for my patience. Morgan and Kael are driving me crazy. Anything she has he wants a vice-versa - grrr. It's already 11:30 and the day is getting away from me.

Lunch: Left-over bratwurst.

Dinner: hmm...I can't remember (writing this on the 28th)

Friday, June 26, 2009

June 26, 2009

Breakfast: Ryan made a banana bunt cake last night - it made the whole house smell delicious and we ate it all up this morning for breakfast.

Michael Jackson died yesterday. So, sad. Even with all the things that he did and how he really just trashed his life over the last 10 to 15 years - he still was a musical genius - a gift only God could bestow and his life ended so tragically. It's like an end of an era for me. Michael Jackson's music was a huge part of how my musical life was formed and shaped. It's just sad - that's really all I can say.

Weather is definitely heated up - still have the clouds and the thunder storms, but it's summer without a doubt.

Lunch: Eggs, bacon, cheese.

Dinner: Bagels - i did some errands after my class and felt absolutely awful when I got home - sore throat.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Trying to get a lot done in the house today, but it's slow work. Hope to be done, by the Fourth.

O my goodness... i thought this blog would be easy to keep. Need to develop habits.

Breakfast: Pop tarts and fruit.
Lunch: Bologna sandwiches and fruit.
Dinner: Cereal :(

It was scorching - almost 90 degrees. I went to the Chris Tomlin concert and adopted to children from Compassion Int'l. My heart aches for these kids - I wish I could do more but two is already expensive.

June 14, 2009

Breakfast: Biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. The only thing missing is the grits.

Vance said the biscuits and gravy were better than Cracker Barrel.

Weather isn't perfect, but at least it isn't completely gloomy. It hailed so hard last night that it looked like it snowed. Vance left the window down in his truck he said, "I pulled a Rachel."

Snack: Homemade chips and salsa (need to get a good picture of those...)

Lunch: Cereal and milk with grapes

Dinner: after a 3:45pm spin class I went to Wal-mart for groceries and stopped by Wendy's for dinner. *Raining hard*

Saturday, June 13, 2009

* woke up to gloomy skies again - no swimming today.

Dinner: I made homemade salsa and chips and hamburgers - been watchin' the grill master and the burger turned out perfect (elk burgers that is)

Went to church and am feeling better about myself. Pastor Steve taught that we are to live all out and for God's glory. I can apply this one - to my spin classes.

Friday, June 12, 2009
